bitnpieces.jpgHere’s a bunch of bits ‘n’ pieces that I hope will serve you…

A few weeks ago we mentioned the little book “A Gospel Primer” by Milton Vincent, pastor at Cornerstone Fellowship Bible Church, California.

For those of you yet to download it and benefit from it here’s the link.

Mike Bullmore, senior pastor of Crossway Community Church in Kenosha, Wincosin, USA has preached an outstanding message on devotions, entitled “Feeding On God: Cultivating a Fruitful Life in the Word” to the 10:31 (Youth) ministry at Covenant Life Church which we highly recommend you download and listen to!  Go here to download.

Below is a link to the list of Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in and through Jesus Christ, that we used in our caregroup on Thursday evening.

Take it Home” is a tool for application of the Sunday message. It consists of the title, text and major points of the message preached followed by a set of questions designed to bring the content of the message home to our lives and families.

Each week, we make it a priority to care for and teach our kids so that they look forward to Sundays as much as their parents do.

For toddlers through to primary schoolers, Generations Children’s Ministry is an exciting, fun-filled place to learn who God is.

For toddlers (1-3 year olds) we offer a creche where younger children are cared for.  They enjoy a range of age-appropriare activities, including crafts, songs, stories and playing.

Children aged 4-11 years old stay with their parents during the worship portion of our service and then go off to their classes.  Fun, games, crafts and bible teaching is offered each week and are all designed to point children to the gospel.

We also have a dedicated room where nursing mothers can care for their babies and benefit from the service via an audio/video link.

For your peace of mind, we have in place a robust child protection policy, and we are registered with CCPAS (Churches Child Protection Advisory Service).

We’ve moved!

Our Beliefs

11:49 am

We believe…

  • The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error. It is the supreme and final authority for all matters of Christian life and belief.
  • There is one true and living God, who eternally exists in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–who are equal in every divine perfection and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in all the work of the Godhead.
  • Man was created by God in His own image, but through his sin incurred physical and spiritual death.
  • As a result, all people are separated from by God their sin and are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ.
  • The Gospel is the good news of God’s saving actions towards sinners through Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, took on human nature, lived a sinless life, and died a substitutionary death for sinners.
  • Salvation is a free gift that comes only by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus Christ and His death on their behalf receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.
  • The Holy Spirit works progressively to transform genuine believers more and more into the image of Christ. His work is carried on in our hearts through such appointed means as the study of Scripture, prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers.
  • The Holy Spirit also empowers believers for Christian witness and service and gives gifts for the building up of the body of Christ, the church.
  • The universal church, composed of genuine followers of Christ, exists to worship, serve, and glorify God.
  • All members of the universal church are to be vitally committed members of a local church, where they receive pastoral care and the opportunity to employ their God-given gifts in His service.
  • Jesus Christ will return to the earth, personally and visibly, to establish His kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth.
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost–the saved to endless joy, living and reigning with Christ, and the lost to endless punishment away from the benevolent presence of God.

Youth & Singles

m28-blog-pic.gifOur M:28 youth and singles ministry exists primarily to glorify God.

The goal of M:28 is to shape young people and singles into adults who love and worship Jesus Christ, by providing contexts for them to experience, apply, and proclaim the glorious gospel.

M:28 gatherings currently happen once per month.

Expect fun and games, adventure, deepening friendship, fellowship, prayer and teaching geared towards addressing issues relevant to this season of life.

Students

Student life is unique.  Student years are packed with opportunities and at Grace Church we aim to help students make the most of them.

Knowing that studying away from home can be difficult, we seek to specifically support and encourage our large student community.  This includes transportation, lunches, socials, adopt-a-student and homegroups.

All our students love the fun and interaction they have with the folks in our church. For many it really is a home away from home!

We encourage students to particiate in our wider M:28 youth and singles ministry.

We also actively support the Christian Unions in our local University campuses.

Children

8:03 am

generations.gifThe Bible is clear that the call of Christian parents is to train and teach their children the gospel.

God has also provided the local church to train parents and to join with them in this responsibility.  As a church it is our desire to support parents in this effort.

Although teaching and training children in the gospel is the greatest challenge and task parents have been given, God has provided many promises and reasons for faith in the process.

We believe that the simple message that Jesus died for our sins can and should be taught, even to our youngest children.

We’re a church filled with children.  Each week, we make it a priority to care for and teach our kids so that they look forward to Sundays as much as their parents do.

In “Generations” our goal is to provide an environment that is safe and fun, but with the gospel as the defining emphasis of everything we do during these hours.

We seek to do much more than simply provide childcare while parents attend the Sunday meeting.

Each and every Sunday morning the children join in with their families for the corporate worship time, before meeting in their classes.

We offer Sunday school classes for children aged 4-11 years old, a creche for 1-3 year olds, and have a room set aside for mothers with young babies.

These classes are designed to help our children to know God, to worship Him, to respect authority, to grow in character and obedience to God’s Word, and to glorify God with their lives. Along with the classroom instruction we incorporate worship and crafts to make learning about God the most enjoyable time of their week. It is our desire that our children grow up with a positive church experience while learning the Gospel and the foundational doctrines of our faith at the same time.
