At Grace Church, we love to sing some wonderful cross-centred songs written by Mark Altrogge and more recently his son, Stephen Altrogge. Stephen has recently written a book entitled, “My Friend, My Hero, My Dad” which he is giving away as a free e-book download. Click here for more details.
Mark and Stephen also blog together at The Blazing Center – well worth adding to your regular blog reading diet!
LU: Looked Upon
The new album from the NA (New Attitude) Band
The Na Band, led by Devon Kauflin, leads worship at New Attitude, an annual conference for singles and young couples. Their purpose is to set “humble orthodoxy” to music. The content of their songs reflects an unswerving commitment to and passion for the truth that matters most: the gospel of Jesus Christ. During the year, they serve God’s kingdom through their local church, Covenant Life Church (Gaithersburg, MD), and regularly lead worship there.
This is the latest album produced by Sovereign Grace Music. Listen to tracks, get downloads and sheet/chord music by visiting the website.
Available soon at a church book table near you or download it for next to nothing at the Sovereign Grace Store.
Saturday 24th May to Tuesday 27th May 2008. The New Attitude 2008 conference was held in Louisville, Kentucky. This is the annual Sovereign Grace-hosted conference for singles and young married couples.
This year, the focus of the conference was on the importance of God’s Word. The speaker line-up included NA conference usual suspects; men like John Piper, Mark Dever and Al Mohler, together with Eric Simmons, Joshua Harris and CJ Mahaney.
The audio for all 8 sessions is available to download from here and should be added to your iPod/mp3 player for essential holiday listening!
Following the theme of recent days highlighting some of the gospel work going forward through our partnership with our family of churches – Sovereign Grace…
My good friend Kenneth Maresco and his wife Valori (from Covenant Life Church, Gaithersburg, MD) have just returned from a recent trip to Ethiopia to visit the Sovereign Grace church there. The above picture shows Kenneth and Valori with Wondy (left) and Mo (2nd left), the pastors of the church.
Covenant Life Church Addis Ababa started 5 years ago and is having a huge impact in that city. You can read more about the church and Kenneth and Valori’s trip by reading Kenneth’s Ethiopia Journal.
Continuing our theme of looking at missions and seeing the gospel go forward to the ends of the earth, and our involvement and partnership through our Sovereign Grace family…
Covenant Mercies is a gospel-centered charity established for the purpose of serving the poor, the orphan and the widow.
My friend Doug Hayes (who I was at Pastor College with) is the founder and executive director of this charity and leads and oversees the work of Covenant Mercies, both in the locality of Pennsylvania, USA (where Covenant Mercies is based, housed in the Covenant Fellowship Church building) and overseas in places like Uganda, Ethiopia and Zambia.
They do great work, especially the orphan-sponsorship program – where anybody can contribute monthly and sponsor a child, providing money for the health, welfare and education of some of the poorest children in our world today.
For more info about this child sponsorship program check out the video here.
Having given an update on the relief work Sovereign Grace is involved with in Burma, I thought you’d be interested to hear some other exciting developments Sovereign Grace is connected with, that is taking the gospel to parts of the world we will never visit.
Grace Church is made up of a thriving, growing diverse group of Christians of all ages gathered from across the city of Bristol.
We want to be a genuine family of enthusiastic worshippers who are passionate about the truth and relevance of the Bible, and eager to live out its message in authentic Christian lifestyles, representing and proclaiming the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world around us.
