The new album from Sovereign Grace Music is now available!

The album, “Risen” features 13 songs celebrating Christ’s resurrection and all that it means for those who have trusted in his atoning work on the cross.

I’ve been listening to it much of today, and am really enjoying the songs, revelling in the glorious truth of the resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  In fact, this album has been so popular that the Sovereign Grace Store crashed and album downloads have stopped because they can’t handle the demand!

Part of the reasons the album is being snapped up quicker than a cup of cold water in the desert is because Sovereign Grace is offering the download album for a fantastic $5 (limited time offer only, closes on 5th April 2011).  In real money, that makes it an absolutely incredible £3 (give or take a bit depending on the exchange rate!)

That’s practically giving it away! Therefore, my suggestion is that you visit the Sovereign Grace Store and download the album ASAP.  We will be learning a bunch of the songs over the coming weeks, so nows as good a time as any! You can also get it from Amazon (£6.99) or iTunes (£7.99).

Here’s a video of our friend Bob Kauflin (don’t forget he will be at Grace Church on 24th April 2011!) explaining why they have made this album:

Because I mistakenly posted my blog yesterday, I am now free to post other things today.  Here’s an update on Sovereign Grace efforts into Haiti:

Friends,

Thank you for joining us in helping the needy in Haiti! Since we activated our Disaster Relief fund on January 14, we’ve received more than $125,000 in donations. Every dollar of this fund will go to relief efforts in Haiti.

Last week, thanks to your generosity, we sent $25,000 to churches in the Dominican Republic who have medical clinics in Port-au-Prince and other areas of Haiti. These churches are already helping earthquake survivors, and your donations allow them to purchase much-needed medical supplies. While they provide medical care, these churches are bringing the hope of the gospel. In addition to these efforts, we’ve begun sending relief funds to a group of churches and orphanagesl, with whom we’ve had ministry relationships for some time.

We’re also looking to the future. As the first stages of emergency relief are completed, we want pastors and churches in Haiti to have the tools they need to serve their communities. Most of all, we want to support their efforts to bring the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to their neighbors. So we’re continuing to look for ways to support the Haitian churches we’re in contact with, not only for immediate relief, but also for long-term rebuilding efforts.

We want to serve churches. If you want to join us, you can donate to our Disaster Relief fund at our website or by calling 800.736.2202. On behalf of our friends in Haiti, thank you for considering this opportunity to help.

And whether or not you’re able to give now, please join us in praying that those affected by the earthquake would receive aid quickly, and that local churches in Haiti would be strengthened to the glory of God.

With appreciation,

Patrick Ennis
Executive Director

For centuries the book of Psalms has informed, directed, and inspired the worship of God’s people. Without minimizing the struggles of living in a fallen world, this book exudes a confident trust in the God who is good and rules over all.

These twelve songs have emerged from those ancient poems and prayers. Our aim is to offer fresh interpretations of individual psalms, especially in light of the crucified and risen Savior to whom they point.

psalms-cd-cover.jpgThis is the latest album produced and released by Sovereign Grace Music.

Listen to tracks, get downloads (including a free song!) and sheet/chord music by visiting the website.

Available soon at a church book table near you(!) or (if you can’t wait that long!) you can download it for next to nothing at the Sovereign Grace Store.

For interested music buffs, Stephen Altrogge – one of the songwriters on this latest album, has a post over at his blog – The Blazing Center – that describes his process of song writing, and the evolution of his songs from demo’s to album tracks.

AND…

You can watch a video about the production of the album:

stepehn-mark-altrogge.jpgAt Grace Church, we love to sing some wonderful cross-centred songs written by Mark Altrogge and more recently his son, Stephen Altrogge. Stephen has recently written a book entitled, “My Friend, My Hero, My Dad” which he is giving away as a free e-book download. Click here for more details.

Mark and Stephen also blog together at The Blazing Center – well worth adding to your regular blog reading diet!
